Okay, enough excuses. Here's a few quick shots of recent projects that have come through our doors:
This is a 1965 Cadillac Coupe DeVille- customer had us install a simple air suspension kit on it consisting of an AccuAir VU4 valve manifold, Air Lift Dominator airbags, a 5 gallon air tank and a pair of Viair 380C compressors. We added a digital pressure gauge and a clean 7 switch AVS switchbox for controls so he can tuck it under his seat when he's at a show...
This C10 came in with a mess of 1/2" valves underneath and a rat's nest of wiring. We swapped all of that out for an AccuAir eLevel ride height control system with their VU4 manifold valve, re-plumbed and wired the whole system, and added a pair of tubular control arms for the front end. It actually laid the front crossmember on the pavement, but he had us add spacers to keep it off the ground just a little bit...
This Hummer H1 came to us with gigantic 28" wheels for air suspension. These rigs come from the factory with coil springs at all 4 corners, so we were able to make custom mounts to replace those coils with Slam Specialties airbags and Bilstein shocks. The offset on the wheels prevented us from getting it any lower, but it should get plenty of attention wherever he goes!
We had some stock wheels and 37" tires lying around, so we threw them on one side for a tougher "military" look!
This Suburban came in for a basic airbag installation. He's got 2 18" subwoofers and several thousand watts of amplifiers in the back, so our challenge was to fit everything underneath the truck. Two 5 gallon air tanks, four Viair 444 compressors, a parallel 4 link kit and a small frame notch were all tucked in nice and tight while retaining his cargo area, complete with rear air conditioning!
The photo doesn't show it, but this thing has a beautiful Kandy paint job, too...
1966 Chevy Impala convertible. Full air suspension kit with 1/2" valves- doesn't quite hop off the ground, but it's definitely quick! 13" wires with skinny whites lets it lay flat on the ground, too.
This 1955 Chevy series 1 pickup was already beautiful when it came into our shop. We're just changing a couple of things for the new owner- Vintage Air air conditioning with a smoothed and painted under-dash unit, March pulley system, power steering, and under-floor hydroboost for a bit more braking feel. We're also going to see if we can get him a little more lift out of the rear suspension- looks like it only has about 4" of travel right now...
We're also starting work on a 1961 Cadillac convertible. This car has lived a rough life, and it's full of nasty rust under a heap of body filler and badly-made patch panels. We're taking it down to a bare shell, mounting it on a rotisserie, and it's heading off to be media blasted this week.
This project will consist of full repair of the body, straightening and rechroming/polishing of all of the trim, air suspension with AccuAir automatic ride control, new glass, upholstery, and top, and something purely evil under the hood! I'll have to give this one its own post as it comes along, but for now you'll have to wait.
If you don't like waiting six months to see what we're up to, head over to our Facebook page, or follow us on instagram @twistedimages Thanks for looking!
