You Thought That C/K Was Old School...

Today we're gonna go back.

How far we goin' back?  WAY BACK!

This '99 Astro just exudes 90's goodness out of every pore- from the crazy graphics, to the quad 5" exhaust tips, and the full custom upholstery!

Sadly, the years have not been kind to this poor van.  It shows only 36,000 miles on the odometer, but it's been a hard life nonetheless.  The paint on the front end was damaged at some point, and rather than try to repair the custom graphics they've been sprayed over with black- criminal!  There's several areas where the pinstriping has been buffed away, and it has its share of chips and scratches...

It's in the shop to track down some air leaks and other maintenance issues with the air system.  I'm not sure if there's a new owner trying to restore it to its former glory, or if the original owner is getting ready to sell, but we're throwing a new set of valves on, checking everything out underneath, and making it ready to drive.

Hopefully the current owner will get a few more things taken care of (polish the wheels, repair some of the paint issues, etc.) and start rolling this thing around town again!  I think it's a perfect time capsule to back when minitruckin' (and vanning) was a lot more fun- before everyone took things a bit too seriously.  I know some of you don't get it, but I LOVE this thing!

As much as I'd love to give the impression that we only get super-custom rides through the shop, the reality is we deal with boring stuff too!  This '02 Honda Odyssey came in for repairs to the sliding doors and the power steering system... woo hoo!  Vans, vans, and more vans!  I'm gonna go change into some Vans and work on these vans- see you later!
